Operation Save a Life

Plunketts Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department and Township Emergency Management has teamed together to participate in “Operation Save a Life”. There is a limited supply and the giveaway is based on a first come first serve basis. Each home is limited to two detectors installed by Fire Station 25 personnel FREE.

Operation Save a Life was developed by WNEP-TV and smoke alarm manufacturer Kidde in an effort to make homes in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania safer from the deadly effects of fire.

For the past five years Lycoming County Fire Departments have participated in “Operation Save a Life”. This year the program has added a new phase.

Residents can fill out the Home Fire Safety Inspection Form and turn it into the fire company. Upon receipt of the completed form residents have the option to have two smoke detectors installed by Station 25 personnel in the home or sign an agreement stating they will install the detectors themselves within ten days. The “Home Fire Safety Inspection Form” can be downloaded in pdf format here.

This added new phase to “Operation Save a Life” is meant to remind residents that fire safety is for everyone and everyone is responsible for being safe.
